Memories of Dennis

Created by Simon one year ago

Early days at school sitting in the back row of history lessons and getting blackboard rubbers thrown at us by Mr Fracis for inappropriate comments. Comming last in cross country races due to walking the course enjoying the Oxford countryside. Sitting up in the projection box in the school hall listening to the latest Beatles albums. Weekend exeats for me to Wiggington and days out on Eric’s farm, and listening to Dennis’s early ham radio attempts that blocked all other radio out in the village!
Later after school years having all night card sessions, and his mum cooking breakfast for everyone, including black pudding! On Sundays Eric his dad loved hymns on the radio which he had to have up at full volume because of hearing loss due to competition shooting.

His love of old motor cycles, the beloved Brough Superior, and later the Hesketh, and the passion for restoring old tractors especially the Nuffield.

Dennis and his compatriot bring “home brew” down to Cornwall with some disastrous results can now be forgiven!
Being the DJ at the 2009 school reunion

some memories of a dear friend who will be sadly missed gone too soon

RIP Den
